Job description

Farnsworth Group is seeking an Interior Associate II in the below posting location. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the design and delivery of interior design projects from concept through construction. You will collaborate with project teams to develop design solutions, prepare technical documentation, coordinate project deliverables, and communicate with clients, consultants, and vendors. This position provides the opportunity to build leadership skills while contributing to the successful execution of projects across a variety of market sectors.
Posting Location: Springfield, IL
What You'll Do:
  • Assist in the design and delivery of interior aspects of projects, including programming, space planning, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration.
  • Develop interior design solutions, finish selections, material palettes, furniture layouts, and presentation materials.
  • Participate in the selection and presentation of furniture, furniture systems, fabrics, equipment (FF amp;E), color palettes, and lighting.
  • Prepare and coordinate construction documents using Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Provide design support and documentation to communicate design ideas from concept through completion, including renderings, graphic presentations, and technical documentation.
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, vendors, and contractors to support project goals and schedules.
  • Participate in client meetings and presentations while helping to develop and maintain client relationships.
  • Assist with project administration, file management, quality reviews, and project documentation.
  • Perform construction administration activities, including submittal reviews, RFIs, and site observations.
  • Support and mentor Interior Associate I team members.
What You'll Need:
  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design from an accredited program.
  • 3–5 years of interior design experience.
  • Experience developing and maintaining client relationships.
  • Working knowledge of programming, space planning, furniture specification, finish selections, and construction documentation.
  • AutoCAD and Revit experience required.
  • SketchUp experience desired.
  • Strong verbal, written, organizational, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple project assignments and deadlines.
  • NCIDQ certification in progress or preferred.
