Job Title: Quality Inspector / Quality Technician

Job Description

The Quality Technician performs incoming, in-process, and final inspections to ensure components, assemblies, and finished medical devices meet all specifications and Quality Management System requirements. This role serves as a key quality control point within manufacturing by preventing nonconforming material from moving forward in production or being released to customers. The Quality Technician works closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Quality teams to support inspections, investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives in a regulated medical device environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of mechanical, electrical, PCB, and electromechanical components against engineering drawings, specifications, and defined acceptance criteria.
• Verify product configuration, revision levels, serial numbers, lot traceability, labeling, and associated manufacturing documentation to ensure full compliance and accuracy.
• Use precision inspection equipment including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, microscopes, gauges, and inspection fixtures to measure and evaluate parts and assemblies.
• Document inspection results clearly and accurately, and support Material Review Board (MRB) activities by identifying, documenting, and segregating nonconforming material.
• Conduct in-process and final inspections of finished medical devices to applicable workmanship standards and quality requirements.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing and Engineering teams to resolve quality issues, support investigations, and contribute to corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) and root cause analysis.
• Support equipment calibration, qualification, preventive maintenance, and the management of inspection fixtures to ensure reliable and consistent measurements.
• Assist with process validations, internal audits, supplier quality activities, and continuous improvement projects focused on enhancing product quality and process efficiency.
• Support the development, review, and maintenance of inspection procedures, work instructions, and other quality documentation.
• Participate in inventory verification and material control activities to ensure accurate stock levels and proper handling of materials.
• Maintain inspection records and quality documentation in an organized and compliant manner.
• Keep inspection areas clean, safe, and well-organized to support efficient workflows and high-quality standards.
• Perform other quality and manufacturing support activities as assigned to meet production and quality objectives.

Essential Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of quality inspection experience in a regulated manufacturing environment, preferably related to medical devices or similar industries.
• Proven experience performing receiving, in-process, and/or final inspections on components and finished products.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, bills of material, and work instructions with a high level of accuracy.
• Hands-on experience using precision measurement equipment such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, microscopes, gauges, and inspection fixtures.
• Experience working within ISO and FDA Quality System environments, with an understanding of regulatory and quality system requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify nonconformances and potential quality issues.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Quality.
• Ability to document inspection results and maintain accurate quality records and reports.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Associate degree in a technical field or relevant technical certification is preferred.
• Experience supporting Material Review Board (MRB) activities and handling nonconforming material.
• Exposure to corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs), root cause analysis, and quality investigations.
• Experience supporting equipment calibration, qualification, and preventive maintenance programs.
• Experience in process validation, internal auditing, and supplier quality activities.
• Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies within a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to help develop and maintain inspection procedures, work instructions, and quality documentation.
• Organizational skills to maintain clean, efficient, and compliant inspection workspaces.

Work Environment

This is a full-time role in a regulated medical device manufacturing environment with standard weekday hours. Work is performed on-site, Monday through Friday, with an 8-hour shift starting between 6:30 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. The position is primarily based in inspection and production areas, using precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, microscopes, gauges, and inspection fixtures. The environment requires maintaining clean, organized, and safe inspection stations, following established quality procedures and documentation practices, and working closely with manufacturing and engineering teams on the production floor

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Seattle, WA.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $33.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Seattle,WA.
