Job Title: Inspector C

Job Code: 42385

Job Location: North Amityville, NY

Job Schedule: 9/80: Employees work 9 out of every 14 days- totaling 80 hours worked- and have every other Friday off 

Job Description:

Experienced mechanical inspector for OEM of antenna products for military and commercial aerospace sectors.

Essential Functions:

  • Support day-to-day inspection duties as assigned.

  • Potentially take on additional assignments with increased scope and difficulty to support sustaining production and/or new development projects.

  • Read blueprints and interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances.

  • Process and handle of nonconforming material.

  • Support first article inspections in accordance with AS9102 requirements.

  • Ability to obtain a US security clearance.

Qualifications:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.

  • Experience interfacing with customers and facilitating source inspections is a plus.

  • Experience in performing process audits, compiling reports and recommending remedial actions is a plus.

  • Familiarity with paint, fiberglass, composite and machining processes is a plus.

  • Desire to learn how to perform heavy mechanical inspection which encompasses the use of coordinate measurement equipment (CMM, Faro arm, etc.), performing tooling/gauging verification, and using other complex measurement techniques and methods.

  • Familiar with AS9100/ISO9001 or other quality management systems.

  • Familiarity with industry specs/standards as it relates to materials and manufacturing processes (e.g., ASTM, ASE, MIL specs, etc.) is a plus.

  • Knowledge of lean/six sigma and other industry best practices is a plus.

  • Flexibility to work overtime or 2nd shift is a plus.

 

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New York (Greater NYC area) is $25.00 MIN- $46.63 MAX. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
