Job description

This position will serve as a senior member of the IT Infrastructure team, responsible for leading the design, support, and evolution of enterprise networking technologies across the organization. The role balances strategic architecture and modernization initiatives with operational leadership to ensure reliable, scalable, secure, and resilient technology services.
As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you will provide expert-level technical leadership for enterprise networking platforms, including Cisco routing and switching, Cisco ACI, Meraki wireless, Palo Alto firewalls, public cloud, and Fibre Channel storage networking. This role requires a highly skilled infrastructure professional who can independently lead complex initiatives, develop technical standards, mentor team members, and drive continuous improvement across infrastructure operations. You will collaborate closely with technical teams, business stakeholders, and vendors to support operational excellence, infrastructure resiliency, disaster recovery readiness, and long-term technology strategy.
This is a hybrid role, with the associate required to be in the office 3 days per week.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to infrastructure engineers and analysts, promoting knowledge sharing, professional growth, and a culture of continuous learning
  • Lead the architecture, design, implementation, and lifecycle management of enterprise networking solutions across office, data center, and cloud-connected environments
  • Develop and execute network modernization strategies that improve scalability, reliability, security, operational efficiency, and long-term sustainability
  • Serve as the technical lead for Cisco routing and switching, Cisco ACI, Meraki wireless, Palo Alto firewalls, public cloud, and Fibre Channel storage networking technologies
  • Lead disaster recovery planning, testing, documentation, and continuous improvement efforts to ensure network resiliency and business continuity preparedness
  • Perform complex troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem management activities to identify and eliminate recurring infrastructure issues
  • Provide advanced operational support and escalation management for critical incidents and high-impact infrastructure challenges
  • Establish and maintain infrastructure standards, design principles, best practices, and operational procedures for enterprise networking technologies
  • Partner with Information security and application teams to develop secure, resilient, and scalable infrastructure solutions that align with organizational objectives
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend architecture improvements, automation opportunities, and strategic investments that support long-term infrastructure goals
  • Lead network-focused infrastructure projects, including upgrades, migrations, system implementations, and technology refresh initiatives
  • Manage vendor relationships and collaborate with external partners to support design reviews, troubleshooting efforts, and technology evaluations
  • Monitor network performance, availability, capacity, and security posture while proactively identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, standards, operational procedures, and disaster recovery plans
  • Communicate technical risks, recommendations, project status, and strategic considerations clearly to technical teams, leadership, and business stakeholders
  • Participate in on-call rotations and provide leadership during after-hours support and critical incident response activities

QUALIFICATIONS
ESSENTIAL:
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of infrastructure engineering experience in enterprise environments
  • Advanced experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise network infrastructure
  • Demonstrated expertise with Cisco routing, switching, and wireless networking technologies
  • Experience administering Fibre Channel SAN fabrics in enterprise data center environments
  • Strong understanding of network architecture, routing protocols, switching technologies, wireless networking, network segmentation, and network security principles
  • Proven ability to lead technical initiatives, mentor team members, and influence infrastructure strategy and standards
  • Experience supporting disaster recovery planning, testing, and business continuity initiatives
  • Advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills with the ability to solve complex technical challenges independently
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with technical teams, leadership, and business stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across departments, build strong working relationships, and drive successful outcomes through partnership and shared ownership
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while balancing operational responsibilities with strategic project work

PREFERRED:
  • Cisco certifications such as CCNP Enterprise, CCNP Data Center, or equivalent networking certifications
  • Palo Alto experience or certifications
  • Experience with cloud networking technologies, including Azure networking services and hybrid connectivity solutions
  • Experience supporting highly regulated environments such as insurance, financial services, healthcare, or similar industries
  • Experience with network monitoring, performance analytics, and operational observability platforms
  • Experience leading enterprise-scale network transformation or modernization initiatives
