Job description

Position Summary...What you'll do...Role summary:
The Critical Facilities Technician is responsible for managing and executing highly skilled technical operations within a mission-critical data center environment. This role ensures continuous availability, reliability, and efficiency of building management systems (BMS), mechanical and electrical infrastructure, utility plants, and HVAC systems. The position also supports all maintenance activities required to sustain optimal data center performance.
About the team:
The team is responsible for managing and executing advanced technical operations within critical facility data centers. This includes monitoring Building Management Systems, maintaining utility plants, air-conditioning, and supporting all maintenance activities. Team members apply expertise in project management, vendor coordination, troubleshooting, and inspection of electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems. They ensure operational efficiency and reliability by adhering to established procedures and standards. The team collaborates to maintain infrastructure performance, optimize system functionality, and support continuous improvement efforts in a structured and professional environment.
What you'll do:
  • Inspecting and examining heating/refrigeration and air-conditioning, chillers, air compressors, heat exchangers, medium and low voltage switch gear, and all auxiliary equipment to locate defects in operations
  • Managing water treatment chemicals for cooling towers, chillers, or other critical facilities systems
  • Managing electrical distribution and controls including UPS systems, PDU’s, generators, switchgear
  • Monitoring and updating the Energy Management Controls System and BMS systems
  • Managing or performing preventive maintenance, installations, inspections, troubleshooting, adjustments, repairs, and replacement of rotating equipment (pumps, motors, associated parts and systems)

  • Experience with medium- and low-voltage electrical distribution, including UPS, PDUs, generators, and emergency power systems.
  • Strong mechanical expertise in HVAC, chillers, pumps, and cooling systems within critical environments.
  • Proficiency in building management and automation controls (BMS) to monitor and optimize performance.
  • Ability to supervise and coordinate work on utility plant mechanical and electrical systems, including vendors.
  • Willingness to support 24/7 operations, including night shifts and weekends, with a high level of accountability and responsiveness.
