Job description

MVAR Media, a leading Democratic political media consulting firm, is seeking a Financial Associate to join our team. This position is based in Alexandria, VA, and will support the accounting and finance team through December 2026.

The Financial Associate will assist with accounts payable processes, vendor management, reconciliations, and financial tracking. This role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate across teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enter production and digital vendor invoices into Quickbooks and support routine payment procedures.
  • Maintain vendor records and respond to general vendor inquiries.
  • Support vendor master data management, updates, and tax compliance validation (W-9).
  • Prepare and maintain weekly and monthly trackers via excel spreadsheets for digital buys.
  • Support accounts payable documentation, reporting, and administrative tasks.
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness reconciliations.
  • Collaborate with internal production and digital teams to ensure accurate accounts payable operations and meet deadlines.
  • Prepare regulatory reports and support internal audits by providing required documentation and explanations.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of accounting or finance experience.
  • Strong QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
