Job Description

Texas A&M University - San Antonio (TAMU-SA) seeks a dynamic leader for the position of Associate Professor in Educational Leadership (Research Methodology). This is a full-time tenure-track position. This position reports to the Chair of the Department of Educator and Leadership Preparation.Texas A&M University - San Antonio is a Hispanic-serving, upper-division and graduate institution. The University has enjoyed tremendous growth in enrollment since it became a stand-alone University in 2009. Enrollment is estimated to have been nearly 8,000 students in 2025. The University offers a variety of undergraduate, graduate and certificate programs. Instruction may be delivered on-campus, off-campus, or online and may be during the day and/or evening.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach courses within the required discipline each semester at both the graduate and post-graduate levels.

  • Assist doctoral students in designing and refining statistical analysis and methodologies used in social science research and for dissertations.

  • Serve on dissertation committees.

  • Develop and manage the class syllabi and ensure that the syllabi meet department and college standards.

  • Plan and create lectures, in class discussions, and assignments.

  • Assess grades for students based on participation, performance in class, assignments, and examinations.

  • Assist/mentor students as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Successful candidates will have an earned doctoral degree from an accredited institution of higher education in the field of Measurement/Evaluation/Research Methods/Educational Psychology/School Psychology/Organizational Behavior or a closely related field.

  • The successful candidate will have demonstrated record of teaching measurement/evaluation courses at the doctoral level with an emphasis on statistical analysis.

  • The successful candidate will have demonstrated record of publications utilizing quantitative methodologies.

  • The successful candidate will have demonstrated record of serving on dissertation committees for doctoral candidates utilizing quantitative methodologies.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Demonstrated record of successfully mentoring doctoral candidates through degree completion.

  • Demonstrated record of publications utilizing the following methodologies: Structural Equation Modeling; Hierarchical Linear Modeling; and/or Linear Regression Modeling.

  • Administrative experience in K-12 education.

  • Superintendent Certification and experience.
