Manufacturing Operations Associate
Kelly Science is seeking a Manufacturing Operations Associate for a contract-to-hire position at a cutting-edge client in Seal Beach, CA. Schedule: Mon, Tues, Fri 7:30pm-8am.
Overview
This client is an industry-leading company that’s leading the way in biotechnology. As a Manufacturing Operations Associate (Cell Therapy Specialist) in our Commercial Manufacturing division, you will be the heart and soul of our organization, responsible for the manufacturing of cell therapy products in a clean-room environment, using patient samples to personalize treatments.
Responsibilities:
  • Work with other Cell Therapy Specialists utilizing current good manufacturing practices (cGMPs) to aseptically manufacture commercial products using Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Ensure right-the-first-time performance of all process steps specific to the operational phase or stage and escalate processing/equipment issues as needed
  • Weigh, measure and check raw materials to ensure proper ingredients and quantities
  • Rigorously adhere to SOPs and cGMP regulations to accurately complete paper and electronic records associated with commercial manufacturing
  • Review in-process cGMP documentation for completeness and accuracy
  • Unpack and check materials received, maintain records and reject unsatisfactory items if necessary
  • Prepare products for final shipment and maintain records of shipped products
  • Examine, stock, and distribute GMP and non-GMP materials to inventory and lines
  • Help drive the safety-first culture
  • Apply job skills and company policies/procedures to complete a narrow range of tasks
  • Work on assignments that are simple in nature, escalating issues when required
  • Be flexible and support all functions by responding to shift changes and business needs
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma required; Associates/Technical/BA/BS degree in Science preferred
  • No prior industry experience required
  • Comfortable with Gowning aseptically for Clean Room environments
  • Experience in medical device, pharma, or biotech preferred
  • Must be able to read and understand quality documents
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate fluently in English
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
  • Intermittent walking to gain access to work areas
  • Finger dexterity to use a computer and complete paperwork
  • Vision sufficient to use a computer and read written materials
  • Hearing sufficient to communicate via telephone or in person
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; limited exposure to cold storage environments
  • Required to work alternate shifts 
  • Job performed in a laboratory, office, or utility (noisy) environment
  • Must be able to work around laboratories, manufacturing areas, and equipment with exposure to blood, blood products, or other potentially infectious materials (OPIM), with personal protective equipment provided
