Description
Summary:
The Admissions Representative serves as a public representative of Casper College focused on recruitment, and actively collaborates with faculty, staff, and administration in the design, development, marketing, and implementation of admissions programs and services. They build relationships with prospective students on and off campus with the goal of assisting them through each phase of the enrollment process, culminating in registration.
Responsibilities:
The primary role of the Admissions Representative is to develop strong relationships with prospective students through active engagement and follow up at each stage of the admissions funnel in order to meet Casper College enrollment goals. Primary travel responsibilities include areas in an assigned territory within the state of Wyoming and surrounding states.
The Admissions representative is knowledgeable about Casper College programs and resources, admissions requirements, enrollment processes, scholarships and financial aid, housing, and placement test options. They are actively engaged in recruitment activities including, but not limited to high school visits, on-campus visit programs, college fairs, planning and tabling at special internal and external events, and proactively communicating with inquiries and applicants via phone, text, email and social media. This position reports to the Director of Admissions.
Essential Duties
  • Provide recruitment services to prospective students and families by planning and implementing events, presentations, and connecting with students through various communication strategies.
  • Manage a specific geographic recruitment territory and travel extensively throughout the state and region conducting high school visits at primary, secondary, and tertiary markets throughout the year (Travel: 60-75% of the time from September through December and 15-25% of the time from January to May).
  • Cultivate relationships with campus employees, high school counselors, and community stakeholders in order to develop partnerships that will benefit prospective students and contribute to new and innovative college programming.
  • Maintain knowledge of Casper College credit and non-credit programs, credential options, enrollment processes, financial aid, resources, and student life.
  • Maintain accurate notes and time logs of students seen and duties performed; maintain reports on recruitment progress, appointment statistics, event attendance, and analyze data towards improvement of services and student outcomes.
  • Support and assist Student Resource team members in the execution of prospective and current student services and programming.
  • Occasionally assist with advising, coaching, and front desk duties when needed.
  • Serve the broader mission of the college and the Student Resource team by serving in and attending on-campus committees and student events. and the Wyoming Admissions Officers organization.
  • Serve as a liaison between prospective students and campus staff and faculty.
  • Attend and participate in community events and community associations as a representative of Casper College.
  • Implement best practices in college recruitment and ensure recruitment activities are inclusive and meet the needs of a diverse student population.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution OR Associate's Degree from an accredited institution plus 2 years of work experience in the areas of recruitment, sales, public relations, education, social work/psychology, or business development
  • Valid motor vehicle license at the time of hire and must obtain a Wyoming driver's license within 30 days of hire. Must maintain insurability under the College's insurance plan
  • Ability and willingness to speak and field questions in front of groups
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing across various platforms
  • Consistently apply exceptional customer service skills
  • Relate to prospective students from underrepresented populations
  • Work with accuracy, attention to detail, and prioritize assigned work

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree with 2 years work experience in higher education, recruitment, or sales
  • Bilingual (Spanish preferred)
  • Knowledge of customer relationship management (CRM) and other related software applications

Supplemental Information
Work Environment:
Typical work environment is an office setting requiring normal safety precautions. Interaction with the public will be required, especially when recruiting. Short periods of time will be spent outdoors traveling between campus buildings in various weather conditions. Extensive travel will be required for this position, during which time the employee will be subjected to various environmental and weather conditions. Work is usually performed during the normal workday however, early morning, late evening and weekend work will be required during periods of critical attendance to meet the peak periods related to position responsibilities.
Physical Demands:
Employees are regularly required to sit and stand for long periods of time, speak, hear, use hands and fingers to handle materials and use computers, feel, and reach with hands and arms. Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds may be required. Must be able to drive for extended periods of time outside of regular work hours.
