Job description

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Certified Medical Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient care, support clinical operations, and ensure smooth administrative workflows within a fast-paced medical environment. Your expertise will help deliver high-quality healthcare services across various specialties, including urgent care, and internal medicine. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes while working alongside experienced healthcare professionals committed to excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments in diverse settings such as clinics, hospitals, or urgent care centers.
  • Take and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, pulse, respiration rate, and temperature.
  • Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort throughout their visit.
  • Collect specimens for laboratory testing, perform phlebotomy procedures, and manage specimen labeling and transport.
  • Maintain comprehensive medical documentation using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and ensure accuracy in medical records and coding (including ICD coding).
  • Support medical administrative tasks such as appointment scheduling, patient intake, insurance verification, and managing electronic health records (EHR/EMR).
  • Assist with medication administration under physician supervision and monitor patient responses during treatment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols including Basic Life Support (BLS) standards and infection control procedures.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate inpatient or outpatient care in settings like hospital medicine or emergency departments.
  • Manage medical supplies inventory and assist in clinic management tasks to optimize workflow efficiency.

Skills

  • Proven experience in medical office preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and medical terminology.
  • Proficiency in using EMR/EHR systems for documentation, order entry, and managing electronic health records efficiently.
  • Skilled in phlebotomy techniques and specimen collection for laboratory testing.
  • Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with diverse patient populations.
  • Ability to perform vital signs assessment accurately and assist with intake procedures seamlessly.
  • Knowledge of medication administration protocols is a plus.

Park Medical is an established Rural Health Clinic providing medical care to anyone in Whitwell, TN and the surrounding communities. Along with primary care, Park Medical offers daily lab draws, weekly ultrasounds, chronic care management, and soon remote patient monitoring and pediatric care!
