Job description

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Benemed Physician PC/ Zambito Heart Center. As a Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support to our medical staff. Your primary role will be to assist physicians and nurses in delivering quality healthcare services to our patients. You will be responsible for performing various clinical and administrative tasks, including taking vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, collecting specimens, and maintaining medical records. Your contribution will be critical in ensuring that our patients receive the best possible care.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Certificate or diploma in Medical Assisting
  • Experience in phlebotomy and specimen processing
  • Knowledge of medical instruments and equipment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Medical Assisting or related field
  • Experience working in a Nurse Practitioner's office
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish

Responsibilities:

  • Assist physicians and nurses in delivering quality healthcare services to patients
  • Maintain exam rooms; clean rooms between patient exams; ensure necessary supplies are stocked.
  • Provide initial medical screening; greet patients and direct to exam room.
  • Prepare patient for visit and alert physician when patient is ready to be seen.
  • Take vitals and basic medical history and accurately document in medical chart.
  • Perform EKGs and laboratory techniques as directed by superiors.
  • Perform clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, and collecting specimens
  • Medication Re- Conciliation experienced.
  • Perform general clerical duties at Front desk including but not limited to answering phones, photocopies, faxing, scheduling, completing forms, med refills, etc.
  • Must be comfortable answering phone calls and taking messages as well as providing feedback for patient/pharmacy calls.
  • Performs all duties in support of successful EHR/EPM implementation.
  • Provide administrative back-up support for MA, TECH as assigned; accept floating assignments as needed below.
  • Maintain workstation, according to protocols; Perform routine quality check of equipment.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as maintaining medical records and scheduling appointments
  • Ensure that medical instruments and equipment are sterilized and ready for use
  • Provide exceptional patient care and support to medical staff

Skills:

As a Medical Assistant, you will use your skills in Medical Assisting, Medical Instruments, Phlebotomy, Draw Blood, Vital Signs, Specimen Process, Sterilization, and Nurse Practitioner on a daily basis. You will work closely with physicians and nurses to provide exceptional patient care and support. Your ability to multitask, communicate effectively, and work in a fast-paced environment will be critical to your success in this role.
