Job description

Argo Law, LLC is seeking an experienced family law paralegal to join a quiet, highly organized solo attorney practice.

This position is ideal for a steady, self-motivated professional who values structure, consistency, and a focused work environment without the chaos of larger firms. This is not an entry-level role. We are looking for someone who can step in and contribute immediately.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys staying organized, working through a task list, and contributing to cases in a practical, day-to-day way.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft pleadings (divorce, custody, and related family law matters)
  • Draft and manage discovery requests and responses
  • Organize exhibits and maintain case files
  • Manage calendars and track deadlines
  • Perform Alabama e-filing
  • Accurately track time in Clio
  • Support overall case workflow and organization

*This role involves some client (and potential client) interaction (in-person and telephone).*

Requirements (Please Read Carefully)

  • Minimum 4 years of family law paralegal experience required
  • At least 2 years of Alabama family law experience required
  • Strong drafting and discovery experience
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Self-motivated and able to manage tasks independently
  • Steady, consistent worker who follows through on daily tasks
  • Comfortable using technology and case management systems
  • Paralegal certification is not required. Practical, hands-on experience in a law firm setting is strongly preferred.

Preferred:

  • Clio experience (strongly preferred)
  • Microsoft 365 experience
  • Familiarity with Dialpad or Canva

This Position Is Not a Fit For:

  • Entry-level applicants
  • Administrative assistants without true paralegal experience
  • Candidates seeking remote-only work
  • Frequent job-hoppers

Compensation & Benefits

  • $20–$25 per hour (depending on experience and fit)
  • Performance-based bonus opportunities tied to productivity and overall contribution
  • Additional incentives may be available for commuting candidates.
  • Nearly 3 weeks paid time off each year plus 8 paid holidays

Schedule

  • Full-time preferred; part-time arrangements may be considered for the right candidate
  • Flexible scheduling available; however, the selected schedule will be set and consistent
  • Options may include 3-day or 4-day workweeks
  • Specific work hours will be agreed upon in advance to ensure reliable office coverage
  • In-office position

Work Environment

  • Direct access to the attorney
  • Highly organized workflow
  • No large-firm bureaucracy
  • Emphasis on steady, consistent productivity
