Job description

NinjaHoldings was founded in 2017 by a team seeking to revolutionize the way everyday Americans interact with financial services. Through our CreditNinja and NinjaCard brands, we empower people overlooked by traditional financial institutions to take control of their finances via a full suite of digital banking and lending products, providing incentives and rewards along the way as we guide them on a path to financial improvement. Through our NinjaEdge brand, we help companies better understand their customers by offering a package of bespoke underwriting, fraud detection, and analytics services. With offices in Chicago, Miami, and around the world through the power of remote work, we are a lean and innovative team always seeking like-minded talent to join us in our fight to disrupt consumer finance.
Job Summary
NinjaHoldings is seeking a self-directed Data Associate to join our Marketing Analytics team, partnering with Marketing and senior analytics experts. You'll own analytics work end-to-end within your area - building and maintaining the Snowflake/dbt models and Periscope dashboards that power funnel reporting, independently diagnosing drop-off drivers with SQL and Python, and translating your findings into clear, actionable recommendations for leadership. You'll coordinate with cross-functional partners, help level up more junior analysts, and are expected to work fluently and critically alongside modern AI tooling.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Own the monitoring of key funnel metrics through reports and dashboards - tracking channel performance, diagnosing deviations, and driving to root cause with minimal guidance
  • Independently take a defined business problem, analyze it with SQL and Python, quantify drop-off drivers, and deliver a recommendation that accounts for business tradeoffs
  • Build, update, and maintain dbt data models in Snowflake to enhance and streamline marketing reporting, writing reusable, standards-compliant code
  • Build and maintain Periscope dashboards, adding charts and metrics that improve visibility across the marketing funnel
  • Communicate concise, action-oriented recommendations to senior management, tailoring the narrative and visualizations to the audience
  • Partner with Marketing, Risk, and Engineering to coordinate strategy changes, monitor releases, and conduct post-release impact analysis
  • Use AI tools to accelerate analysis and development, while critically verifying their output - catching errors, validating logic, and take ownership of correctness
  • Support the growth of the team through knowledge sharing, code review, and mentoring of junior analysts

Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 2+ years of experience with data analytics
  • Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience with relational databases and query authoring, plus working familiarity with a variety of databases
  • Proficiency in using Python
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively alongside AI/LLM tools using them to move faster while independently verifying and correcting their output
  • Strong quantitative and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail

Benefits:
  • Competitive salary and benefits package
  • Flexible, remote work
  • Fun, fast-paced work environment
  • Dynamic start-up culture
  • Ability to make an immediate impact in a growth stage company
  • Convenient downtown Chicago office located in the heart of the city
  • Equal opportunity employer
