Job description

POSITION: Finance and Operations Assistant

Reports to: Executive Director of Finance

JOB SUMMARY: The Finance and Operations Assistant of The Word Church will be one who works as unto the Lord. This role plays a vital part in advancing our church’s mission by supporting the Executive Director of Finance and ensuring the Business Office operates with excellence. This position blends administrative strength, project coordination, and financial support to help drive key initiatives forward. The assistant must be detail-oriented, organized, confident working with numbers and systems, and able to operate effectively in a fast-paced ministry environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinate timelines, tasks, and follow-up for projects

• Maintain organized project documentation and provide updates as needed.

• Support improvements to business office processes and operational workflows.

• Prepare and update spreadsheets, trackers, and financial reports

• Pull data and assist with analysis needed for financial reviews, budgeting, and reporting.

• Support financial documentation, audit preparation, and general financial organization.

• Attend meetings to take clear notes, capture action items, and assist with follow-through.

• Support scheduling, communication, and organization within the Business Office.

• Maintain digital files, department resources, and documentation.
