Special Education Aide | School-Based

Position Overview
We are seeking compassionate, dependable, and student-focused Special Education Aides to support students with diverse learning, behavioral, and developmental needs in a school-based setting in the Denton, TX area.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide classroom support to students receiving special education services.
- Assist teachers with implementing individualized educational and behavioral strategies.
- Support students with academic activities, classroom participation, and daily routines.
- Reinforce instructional concepts and educational goals under teacher supervision.
- Assist with behavior management and implementation of behavior support plans.
- Provide one-on-one and small-group support as assigned.
- Support students in developing social, communication, and functional life skills.
- Monitor student progress and communicate observations to teachers and support staff.
- Help prepare instructional materials and maintain classroom organization.
- Promote a safe, positive, and supportive learning environment.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience working with children or adolescents preferred.
- Previous experience in a school, childcare, behavioral health, or special education setting is highly desirable.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff.
- Ability to effectively support students with diverse learning and behavioral needs.
- Must meet all applicable federal, state, and local employment requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), developmental disabilities, or emotional and behavioral challenges.
- Knowledge of positive behavior support strategies.
- Experience providing one-on-one educational or behavioral assistance.
- Associate's degree or coursework in Education, Psychology, Child Development, or a related field preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and actively engage with students throughout the school day.
- Ability to assist students during classroom, cafeteria, playground, and campus activities.
- Ability to respond appropriately to student behavioral and safety needs.
- Ability to lift, position, or assist students when required by the assignment.
