Summary
The Analytics Engineer plays a key role on the Data and Analytics team working at the intersection of
data engineering and analytics ensuring data quality, designing efficient models, and maintaining data
assets to enable seamless consumption by business users and analytics tools. Responsible for preparing
and modeling data in the silver and gold layers of G3's Databricks-based data lakehouse environment.
Collaborates across IT and with business stakeholders to define and enforce data standards and
understand data needs.

Essential Functions
This job description reflects management's assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict

Plans, creates, and maintains data architecture to enable business decisions and recommend
technical solutions to management based on scalability and complexity.
Implements and maintains robust data quality checks and validation processes to ensure high
levels of data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across the silver and gold layers.
Collaborates with stakeholders to define and enforce data standards, including master data
management, develops data lineage understanding, while adhering to privacy and security
policies.
Partners with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data needs and
design datasets and referential data that align with organizational goals.
Responsible for executing the implementation of the data strategy related to G3's data lake goals
and objectives.
Develops and maintains clear documentation of data models, entity relationship diagrams
(ERDs), governance processes, and quality rules to ensure transparency and reproducibility.
Monitors and enhances the performance of data models and queries to ensure efficient use of
resources and support timely analytics.
Works with data warehousing teams to understand and recreate data layer structures.
Translates business requirements to functional and technical design solutions, specifications, and
prototypes.
Collaborates with development teams to design high quality data solutions to enable analytics.
Consults with analytics teams, business users, and decision makers to identify data sources,
required data elements, or data validation standards.
Develops test plans and facilitates testing prior to promotions.
Performs cross-functional analysis and collaborates with stakeholders across departments.
Partners and presents findings to senior leadership.
Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety
regulatory considerations.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of experience in analytics engineering, technical architecture,
database management, business intelligence, application development, middleware or a related
role; OR Bachelor's degree plus 2 years of G3 experience in analytics engineering, technical
architecture, database management, business intelligence, application development, middleware
or a related role; OR High School diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 7 years of
experience in analytics engineering, technical architecture, database management, business
intelligence, application development, middleware or a related role; OR High School diploma or
State-issued equivalency certificate plus 6 years of G3 experience in analytics engineering,
technical architecture, database management, business intelligence, application development,
middleware or a related role.
Proven experience in designing and maintaining data models for analytics and reporting.
Hands-on experience with data lake modeling concepts and frameworks (e.g., star schema,
snowflake schema), implementing data quality and governance practices.
Strong SQL skills for data querying and transformation.


Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Mathematics, Data Analytics,
Data Science, or Engineering.
Experience with cloud computing and "big data" processing and analytics.
Proficiency in Databricks and the Delta Lake architecture.
Familiarity with Databricks SQL and Unity Catalog for data governance.
Experience with BI tools like MicroStrategy, Power BI, Tableau, or Looker to validate and test
analytics-ready data models.
Knowledge of CI/CD processes and tools like Git for managing code and configurations.
Understanding of cloud environments (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP) and related storage and compute
services.
Understanding of web servers and applications.
Knowledge of components of an enterprise systems architecture
Knowledge of business process re-engineering processes including Lean Six Sigma principles.
Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certified.
Strong understanding of network architecture and application development methodologies
Experience reading, analyzing, and interpreting common scientific and technical journals and
financial reports.
Knowledge of emerging technologies and development platforms.
Experience applying machine learning or artificial intelligence to BI applications.
Experience with performance tuning of business intelligence applications.
Strong knowledge of SQL queries including writing, reading, and debugging.
Experience working with Enterprise Data Warehousing, specifically SAP Data Warehousing
(HANA).

Compensation 

Hiring Hourly Rate: $45.10 - $56.35
