Job description

Job Title: Business Analyst

Location:  Lansing, MI

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather, analyze, and document business requirements from stakeholders

  • Translate business needs into functional and technical specifications

  • Create BRD, FRD, user stories, and process flow diagrams

  • Conduct gap analysis and impact analysis for new initiatives

  • Act as a liaison between business users and technical teams

  • Support UAT planning, execution, and defect resolution

  • Facilitate stakeholder meetings, workshops, and requirement review sessions

  • Ensure solutions align with business objectives and compliance standards

  • Assist in change management and end-user training activities

  • Provide ongoing support and documentation post-implementation


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst

  • Strong experience in requirements gathering and documentation

  • Hands-on experience with:

    • BRD, FRD, Use Cases, User Stories

    • Process mapping (Visio, Lucidchart, etc.)

  • Experience working in Agile and/or Waterfall methodologies

  • Strong knowledge of SDLC

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills

  • Proficiency with tools like JIRA, Confluence, MS Excel, MS Visio

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment


Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Domain experience in Healthcare / Government / Finance (if applicable)

  • Experience with data analysis and reporting

  • SQL knowledge for data validation and analysis

  • CBAP, CCBA, or PMI-PBA certification

  • Experience working in state or public sector projects
