Job Summary:
Provides technical support and field coordination to control system projects and service teams. Listens, takes direction, and seeks guidance from the assigned project leads, supervisors, and company leadership. Travel to client locations for installations, maintenance, or repairs of control systems.
Education and Experience:
  • Associate in Applied Science or Associate in Science in Engineering Technology, Computer Information Systems Technology, relevant curriculum, or experience.
  • Typically, 2+ years industry experience.
  • Proven Track Record: 2+ years as Control System Technician or equivalent.
  • AVEVA System Platform and/or Operations Management Interface experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with AVEVA Historian and related AVEVA technologies is a plus.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Technical Responsibilities:
  • Assist and be self-sufficient in project installation, start-up and commissioning of control systems.
  • Perform instrument loop checks and calibrations.
  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of control systems.
  • Lead and perform Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).
  • Wire instruments and control panels.
  • Demonstrate basic understanding of Human-Machine Interface (HMI) and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) applications.
  • Proficient with startup and troubleshooting of Human-Machine Interface (HMI) applications.
  • Proficient with startup and troubleshooting of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) applications.
  • Read and interpret piping & instrumentation diagrams and wiring diagrams.
  • Practice procedures outlined in the company's Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Accurately document work performed.
  • Demonstrate basic understanding of control system design.
  • Demonstrate basic understanding of electrical and mechanical system design.
  • Demonstrate basic understanding of Information Technology (IT) system, network infrastructure, and computer system design, as it relates to control system integration.
  • Seek accredited control systems certifications and training opportunities.

Customer Service:
  • Communicate in an effective, positive, and proactive manner with customers.
  • Follow customer specific site standards and procedures.
  • Always conduct business in professional manner.
  • Provide excellent customer care and support.

Project Responsibilities:
  • Complete assigned tasks accurately, on schedule, and under budget.
