Job description

Senior Tax Associate
Tax Is About More Than Compliance. It's About Relationships, Advice, and Impact.
The most successful tax professionals become trusted resources for clients, valued teammates for their colleagues, and advisors who understand the broader business challenges behind the numbers. At Clark Schaefer Hackett, you'll have the opportunity to deepen your technical expertise, build meaningful client relationships, and continue growing your career with a firm that believes success at work shouldn't come at the expense of your life outside of it.
Why Tax Professionals Choose CSH
As a Top 65 CPA amp; Advisory Firm, we've built an outstanding reputation by helping clients solve complex business challenges while creating an environment where talented professionals can grow and thrive.
Just as importantly, we believe long-term success is only possible when talented people can also be successful outside of work. Our expectations are high, but we recognize that family, health, and personal commitments matter. We work hard to create a culture where professionals can build exceptional careers without feeling like they have to sacrifice the rest of their lives to do it.
At CSH, you'll have the opportunity to work alongside experienced tax professionals, serve clients across a variety of industries, and continue developing the skills that will support your long-term career growth. We believe professional development happens through meaningful client work, strong mentorship, technical learning, and opportunities to take on increasing responsibility.
What You'll Do
As a Tax Senior, you'll serve as a key member of the engagement team, helping clients navigate complex tax matters while continuing to expand your technical expertise and advisory capabilities. Responsibilities will include:
· Preparing complex business and individual tax returns, projections, and related filings while ensuring work is completed accurately and in accordance with firm and professional standards.
· Researching technical tax issues, develop recommendations, and identify planning opportunities that help clients navigate complex tax matters and make informed decisions.
· Building strong client relationships by serving as a trusted day-to-day resource and delivering responsive, high-quality service.
· Collaborating with Managers and Partners to deliver practical solutions, manage priorities, and support successful client engagements.
· Reviewing the work of associates, provide coaching and mentorship, and contribute to a culture of learning, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Your Experience and Strengths
If you've built a strong foundation in public accounting and are ready to take on increasingly complex client work, expand your technical expertise, and contribute to the success of both clients and colleagues, we'd like to connect with you.
We're particularly interested in professionals who bring:
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
· 2+ years of tax experience, with a strong preference for public accounting experience.
· CPA, EA, JD, or progress toward a professional credential preferred.
· Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work.
· Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with a commitment to outstanding client service and collaboration.
What Makes This Opportunity Different
Many firms view Tax Seniors primarily as solid compliance professionals.
At Clark Schaefer Hackett, we view this stage of your career as an opportunity to expand your technical knowledge, strengthen your client advisory skills, and begin developing the leadership capabilities that will support your long-term success.
You'll gain exposure to a diverse client base, work alongside experienced tax leaders, contribute to meaningful planning and consulting engagements, and continue building the foundation for a rewarding career with one of the region's most respected CPA and advisory firms.
For Consideration
If this opportunity aligns with your experience, career goals, and the type of culture you're looking for, we'd welcome a confidential conversation.
