SUMMARY OF OPPORTUNITY:

We are seeking a data entry specialist who will support Human Resources functions to meet the staffing and employment needs of our district. You will have the opportunity to impact student success by providing excellent customer service and support to our employees, supervisors, and stakeholders. Under supervision of the Sr HRIS Manager, you will perform a variety of data entry tasks ensuring employee data is efficiently and accurately entered in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS), for both new hires and status changes. WHAT YOU’LL DO:

The following outlines what your core duties and responsibilities will be for this position and provides a sample overview of what your day-to-day may look like.


Core Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the timely and accurate processing of employee data and liaises with HR Senior Managers and Business Partners.
  • Utilizes source documents from HR Business Partners to enter employee data in the HRIS, and manages HRIS personnel tables, programs, and imports.
  • Provides prompt and accurate assistance to all Human Resources staff, specifically as it pertains to data entry.
  • Support Senior Employee Data Manger in the processing of employee increases and stipends.
  • Participates in routine department, committee, and other district meetings, as required.
  • Performs routine audits in HRIS platforms to ensure accuracy of employee and position records.
  • Troubleshoots with payroll and other departments on data related issues.
  • Troubleshoots HRIS and Employee Records system issues.
  • Prepares statistical reports when needed and can ensure that the data used to generate said reports is accurate and current.
  • Completes Employee Employment Verifications.
  • Supports Administrative Specialists and Associate to complete I9 verifications and employee badging during high volume seasons.


“Day In the Life” Overview

  • On a regular day, as the Data Entry Specialist, you might:
  • Responsible for the data entry of all new hires, rehires, status changes, and address changes in various HRIS platforms.
  • Maintains staffing records and budget accounts in HRIS, including expenditures of Title II accounts.
  • Promptly and professionally answers all calls pertaining to Human Resources and the Indianapolis Public School District, as received; accurately route calls/customers to their appropriate destination.
  • Responsible for the daily approval of pending W-4’s daily in EERP
  • Processes Designated Service Agreements, and direct pays
  • All other duties, as assigned.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associate’s degree in Human Resource, Business Administration or related field, or 3-5 of HR experience required.
  • Or, any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
