Sales Associate (Rental Counter)

Part Time/Full Time $15.92/ hr

Must be available nights and weekends

Job Summary:

The Sales Associate (Rental Counter) assists customers in renting firearms, sells merchandise, explains safe handling of firearms, totals invoice for merchandise, accepts payment, makes change for customers, restocks inventory and maintains store displays and appearance.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Greets customers in a friendly and professional manner
  • Handles a large volume of phone call inquiries
  • Directs phone calls to appropriate departments
  • Explains safety and store policies to customers
  • Handles a large volume of customer transactions
  • Invoices training orders
  • Creates new customer profiles at the point of sale
  • Accepts payment and makes change
  • Stocks shelves or counters with merchandise and supplies as needed
  • Maintains store appearance by cleaning glass, shelves, counters, employee lounge, floors and bathrooms as needed
  • Adheres to all safety procedures and regulations
  • Communicates with RSO, Gunsmith and Gun Sales employees
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested
  • Maintains familiarity with RTSP products and services

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Education: High School diploma
  • Basic mathematical knowledge required
  • General firearms knowledge required
  • Must pass a background check
  • High attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Basic typing skills required
  • Knowledge of CounterPoint a plus but not required
  • Knowledge of SmartWaiver a plus but not required
  • Thorough knowledge of the facilities policy and procedures
  • Stay current on product knowledge, general firearms laws and safety procedures
  • Dress appropriately for position adhering to facility dress code
  • Must be at least 18 years old

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Regularly required to stand for long periods of time
