Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Sr. Art Director will work in a tactically oriented function to meet the graphic design needs of our many clients. The Sr. Art Director will oversee the entire process of advertisement design, visual requirements, including concept, creation, and production in conjunction with the Creative Director.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The Sr. Art Director will oversee the entire Creative Designer Staffing in conjunction with the Creative Director, Sr. Art Director II.
  • The Sr. Art Director confers with the appropriate staff (Creative Director, Associate Creative Director, Art Directors, Jr. Art Director and Account Managers, Director of Client Services) to determine objectives, budget, background information, and presentation approaches, styles, and techniques.
  • The Sr. Art Director is responsible for assigning projects to the appropriate creative staff.
  • The Sr. Art Director is responsible finalizing the creation of all print visual design, including typography, visual concept and logo design.
  • The Sr. Art Director effectively communicates and coordinates with the information the Account Manager’s of the Creative Department to ensure that the visual design communicates the desired message the client seeks.
  • The Sr. Art Director is the lead with regards to creative aspects of a project and is responsible for final approval of project.
  • Provide ideas, backup support and cross training that facilitates improvement of quality and efficiency.
  • Participation in daily/weekly internal Team Meetings and meetings with the Creative Director, Associate Creative Director, Art Director, Jr. Art Director, Creative Production Director, Director of Client Services and/or CEO.
  • Any other duties assigned by the President/Chief Executive Office.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 8-10 or more years experience as an Art Director in any of the following areas: Interactive, Agency Creative, and Graphic Design.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years management experience.
  • Fluency in current graphic design practices, such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Indesign
  • Ability to create superior, original designs for the Print.
  • Strong design style, including creative design solutions within the constraints of the print and/or the Internet.
  • Strong conceptual skills.
  • Solid understanding of client deliverables, and the ability to take responsibility for them.
  • Knowledge of Print structure and functionality.
  • Understanding of and experience in corporate branding, layout, color theory and typography in both print and digital media.
  • Has demonstrated successful design and integration, and the delivery of projects on time and within the given time frame.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects/tasks of varying complexities, meet deadlines and work well under pressure
  • Ability to work with a large variety of client.
  • Excellent organization and communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines is essential for our fast-paced environment.
