The 2028 Games mark the return of the Summer Games to the U.S. for the first time in 32 years and Los Angeles' third time hosting an Olympic Games and first time welcoming the Paralympic Games. This presents the unique and exciting opportunity to celebrate our legacy with the Games and push the Olympic and Paralympic Movements forward, writing a new chapter of Games history in Los Angeles.

Associate, Venue Infrastructure
The VNI (Venue Infrastructure) team plays a critical role in delivering competition and non-competition venues that are functional, innovative, and fully accessible for the Olympic and Paralympic Games. As part of the larger Games Planning & Delivery group, the VNI team ensures that all venues are designed and developed with the highest standards for functionality, sustainability, and inclusion.
Reporting to the Manager and VNI SVP, the Associate will support the planning and coordination of VNI subfunctions, including Venue Development, Program Management, Engineering, Look and Signage, and Energy. This role will focus on team support, monitoring project timelines and collaborating with stakeholders at a department level.
The successful candidate will have excellent project management skills and an organized and efficient work product.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordination
  • Collaborate with internal functional areas (FAs), external stakeholders (e.g., design and delivery partners, public agencies, and venue teams) to support the development of Venue Infrastructure
  • Support the integration of Venue Infrastructure sub streams and overall coordination of department
  • Work with contractor and suppliers to support delivery of agreed milestones
  • Assist in on boarding new hires and new contractors

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with key FAs, including Venue Management, Accessibility, and Games Operations, to ensure cohesive planning and delivery of venue infrastructure
  • Act as a liaison between sponsorship and commercial teams
  • Support problem-solving efforts related to venue planning and execution
  • Manage functional area requests, deadlines, and outputs across the Venue Infrastructure team

Background and Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience and bachelor's degree preferred
  • Familiarity with sports and event planning preferred.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint; Smartsheet; familiarity with AutoCAD or similar tools advantageous.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present information effectively.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Available to work onsite in our Downtown Los Angeles-based office.
  • The majority of work will be conducted in an office setting, requiring extended periods of time using computers, phones, and other office equipment.
  • The LA28 office is an open floorplan working environment; employees must be able to work efficiently in an open cubicle environment.
  • Hours of work may vary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, especially during peak event periods.
  • Perform other duties as required; the role will evolve over time and may include operational responsibilities during the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to occasionally visit venues and work on-site as needed.

The hourly range for this position is $30.29 - $40.00. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28's operational business needs and applicable law.
