Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic, innovative, and quality-oriented individual with an interest in consulting engineering to join our team as a Structural Engineering Technician with two or more years of experience to join our growing team.
As a Structural Revit Technician, you will support engineers by preparing and managing structural models and drawings using Revit. You will play a key role in the coordination and development of structural documents that support design intent and construction clarity.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
  • Associate degree in drafting/design or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of structural Revit experience, or equivalent experience such as a steel detailer with the aptitude to quickly learn Revit.
  • Solid working knowledge of building structural systems.
  • Proficiency in Revit required; experience with AutoCAD or Navisworks is a plus.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and contribute to maintaining project budgets and deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and a collaborative mindset.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support engineers in developing structural Revit models, including grids, levels, columns, and beams, floors, sections, details, to create completed construction documents.
  • Work from architectural drawings and engineer sketches to produce accurate plans, sections, and details.
  • Coordinate with architectural Revit models or CAD backgrounds to ensure model integration.
  • Use and maintain company Revit templates, adhering to internal BIM/CADD standards.
  • Understand and apply knowledge of building structural systems such as steel, concrete, wood, and masonry.
  • Analyze sketches, notes, and other input materials to determine effective drafting approaches.
  • Coordinate dimensions and details across drawing sets and assist with updating documentation based on shop drawing comments.
  • Develop structural framing plans and simple project details with general input from project engineers.
  • Work flexibly across multiple project teams to help meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrate understanding of drawing standards, sheet layouts, and project schedules.
  • Work under the general supervision of a lead engineer, while occasionally seeking guidance from senior BIM technicians or specialists.
  • Work assignments, answers to design questions, and instructions would be provided.
  • This position is based in the Raleigh, NC area. We are currently seeking local candidates, as relocation assistance is not available.
