Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer (Frontend Emphasis, React.js) to build and sustain a mission critical command and control system for the Mobility Air Force. Your work will focus on developing modern single page applications using React.js and TypeScript, improving the user experience, and ensuring seamless integration with secure backend APIs. You will contribute across the stack, but your specialization will be front end architecture, UI performance, and maintainable component development.
You will collaborate closely with backend developers, guide UI design decisions, and mentor junior engineers within an Agile development environment.
What you will do:
  • Design, implement, test, and deploy single page applications built with React.js and TypeScript.
  • Participate in front end architecture decisions, including state management, component structure, routing, and build configuration.
  • Develop reusable UI components, forms, and interactive views aligned with mission workflows.
  • Integrate React applications with Java and .NET backend services and RESTful APIs.
  • Build automated tests for the UI, including unit, integration, and end to end tests.
  • Ensure accessibility, responsiveness, and adherence to modern UI best practices.
  • Optimize performance through code splitting, lazy loading, and efficient rendering strategies.
  • Implement secure front end patterns, including dependency hygiene, API input validation, and token handling.
  • Review and refactor front end code to ensure maintainability and consistent patterns.
  • Mentor team members on React, TypeScript, testing strategies, and SPA architecture.

Education and Background
  • Minimum Experience: 5+ years of professional software development, including substantial front-end experience with React.js.
  • Experience owning front end architecture or major UI components in production SPA applications.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to obtain or maintain a government security clearance.
  • Prior DoD or federal experience is strongly preferred.

Years of Experience

Required Skills
  • Strong proficiency with React.js, TypeScript, SPA architecture, and modern JavaScript tooling.
  • Experience with front end state management solutions such as Redux, Zustand, Recoil, or Context APIs.
  • Familiarity with build tools such as Webpack, Vite, Babel, or similar.
  • Experience consuming RESTful APIs and collaborating with backend developers to shape API contracts.
  • Understanding of accessibility and compliance standards common in government systems.
  • Experience deploying front end applications to AWS services such as S3, CloudFront, API Gateway, and Cognito.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in UI performance, rendering, and cross browser compatibility.
  • Self directed with the ability to own features from concept to production.

Preferred Skills
  • HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
  • React.js, React Router, and component-based architecture.
  • SPA security patterns for authenticated applications.
  • Modern front end testing frameworks such as Jest, React Testing Library, and Cypress.
  • RESTful API integration patterns.
  • Basic backend development in Java or .NET for full stack feature work.
  • Containerization concepts using Docker.
  • CI/CD practices for building, testing, and deploying front end assets.
  • Agile methodology.

Working Conditions
This position is eligible for remote work in the St. Louis area. However, the position requires a government security clearance, so candidates must be U.S. citizens and eligible for work without a visa sponsorship.
