Position Summary
As a Software Engineer II - Digital Products, you will play a key role within the Digital Product team, developing, enhancing, and supporting scalable SaaS and enterprise digital solutions. You will collaborate closely with Product Managers, Data Teams, Designers, Quality Engineers, and Infrastructure Teams to translate product requirements into high-quality, maintainable software.

In this role, you will lead development efforts on medium to large-sized projects, modernize existing systems, and contribute to new application development. You will mentor and guide junior engineers, ensure adherence to coding standards, and promote best practices in software engineering. You will support discovery, framing, iterative development, and continuous improvement of digital products to deliver value to our customers.

This position is based out of our corporate offices in Reading. PA. This an office first position, at least 4 days in office.

Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary technical contact for one or more critical applications, resolving business and customer issues efficiently. 
Support the full product lifecycle (develop, test, release, support) in alignment with SVPG product principles. 
Collaborate with Product Managers, technical leaders, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and acceptance criteria, translating them into actionable technical designs. 
Lead development of backend systems and design relational database schemas, applying best practices for scalability and maintainability. 
Contribute to frontend design in collaboration with product owners and UX/UI designers, ensuring seamless user experiences. 
Produce clean, maintainable, well-documented code adhering to coding standards and best practices. 
Review code and deliverables from junior engineers, including onshore and offshore team members, providing mentorship and guidance. 
Participate in Design and Deploy Tollgate reviews, obtaining alignment from QA, Security, Architecture, Operations, and other cross-functional teams. 
Write automated unit and UI tests, leverage CI/CD pipelines, and triage production issues in collaboration with support and infrastructure teams. 
Document systems, software architecture, dependencies, and processes to facilitate knowledge sharing. 
Assist in hiring by evaluating candidate technical skills and conducting interviews independently. 
Conduct research on emerging tools, frameworks, and software development practices to improve team capability. 
Lead or support multiple projects simultaneously while fostering collaboration in cross-functional teams. 
Participate in other digital product initiatives and projects as assigned.

Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent professional experience. 
8-10 years of software development experience with modern programming languages (e.g., Java). 
Full stack development experience: React, Angular, jQuery, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Spring/Spring-MVC, myBatis, RESTful APIs. 
1-2 years of experience contributing to Agile teams; experience leading medium to large digital projects. 
Expert knowledge of relational database design, implementation, and complex SQL queries. 
Strong understanding of software design frameworks, patterns, and architecture principles. 
Knowledge of DevOps tools, CI/CD, and automated testing practices. 
Familiarity with front-end UI/UX design concepts and collaboration with designers. 
Ability to estimate and lead multiple medium to large-sized projects. 
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills. 
Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to present technical concepts in business- and user-friendly language. 
Ability to work independently, mentor others, and direct work for cross-functional teams. 
Experience researching and implementing emerging software development tools and frameworks.
