Job description

Job Summary: 

We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Patient Financial Services Representative to guide the client billing experience at Paradigm/Ridge Treatment Centers. The ideal candidate will possess strong medical administrative skills, excellent communication abilities, and a thorough understanding of medical billing and patient financial responsibilities. In this role, you will serve as a vital link between patients and our clinical teams, ensuring accurate financial processing, insurance coordination, and exceptional customer service to support our clients' treatment journey. 

Responsibilities 

  • Assist patients with financial inquiries related to their treatment plans, insurance coverage, and billing processes. 
  • Verify patient insurance information and obtain pre-authorizations or referrals as needed to facilitate seamless billing procedures. 
  • Prioritize and collect payments accurately and efficiently while maintaining compliance with privacy regulations and confidentiality standards. 
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure all necessary documentation is complete for billing purposes. 
  • Maintain detailed records of patient accounts, payment histories, and insurance claims in our management system. 
  • Follow up on outstanding balances or denied claims promptly (via email and by phone) to optimize revenue cycle management. 
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient concerns timely, professionally, and empathetically. 
  • Escalate unresolved or high-risk accounts appropriately. 
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned. 
     

Requirements 
 

  • Proven experience in a medical office setting with a focus on financial services or billing support. 
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with healthcare billing procedures. 
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple accounts simultaneously. 
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, insurance providers, and team members. 
  • Proficiency in office software applications and electronic health record systems.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • This is an on-site position requiring regular in-office attendance based on business needs and company policy.
  • Work is primarily performed in a professional office environment.
  • Requires prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer, including frequent use of a phone, keyboard, mouse, and multiple computer monitors.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively via telephone, video conferencing, and in person.
  • Requires the ability to review, analyze, and interpret data, reports, and electronic documents with attention to detail.
  • May occasionally be required to move or transport office materials weighing up to 15 pounds.

Compensation

  • Starting compensation range of $28.00 - $30.00 hourly. Exact compensation will be determined by experience, education, licensure/certifications, and location, in accordance with applicable laws.
