Real Estate Finance Associate Attorney (Mid-Level)
Location: Multiple U.S. offices (including Atlanta, Chicago, Cleveland, Dallas, Irvine, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Washington, D.C.)
Practice Area: Real Estate Finance

Direct Counsel is seeking a Real Estate Finance Associate Attorney to join a global Am Law firm’s Real Estate Finance practice. This is an opportunity to work as part of a nationally integrated team representing financial institutions, lenders, and sophisticated borrowers in complex real estate lending transactions.

The ideal candidate will have 3–8 years of law firm experience handling commercial real estate finance matters, including loan origination, structuring, documentation, and closing. Experience with balance sheet lending transactions is preferred but not required. This role offers meaningful client interaction, early responsibility, and collaboration across multiple offices.

Responsibilities
  • Represent lenders and institutional clients in commercial real estate finance transactions

  • Draft and negotiate loan documents, security instruments, and related transaction materials

  • Conduct due diligence and manage transaction closings

  • Collaborate with attorneys across offices on national real estate finance matters

  • Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, and transaction stakeholders

Qualifications
  • 3–8 years of real estate finance experience at a law firm

  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills

  • Excellent academic credentials

  • Ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills

  • Active bar admission in the jurisdiction of practice (or ability to become admitted)

Compensation
