Financial Restructuring & Reorganization Associate Attorney

Direct Counsel is seeking a Financial Restructuring & Reorganization Associate Attorney to join a highly regarded Am Law 100 firm in New York, New York or Atlanta, Georgia.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an attorney with 2–4 years of experience in restructuring, bankruptcy, and insolvency matters to join a nationally recognized practice representing debtors, creditors, lenders, investors, and other stakeholders in complex financial restructurings and bankruptcy proceedings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Represent clients in Chapter 11 bankruptcies, out-of-court restructurings, and other financial reorganization matters.

  • Advise clients on business reorganizations, restructuring transactions, and insolvency-related issues.

  • Handle bankruptcy-related litigation, contested matters, and adversary proceedings.

  • Draft and negotiate restructuring agreements, court filings, motions, and related transaction documents.

  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to develop strategic solutions for distressed businesses and creditors.

Qualifications
  • J.D. from an accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.

  • Active Bar membership in good standing.

  • 2–4 years of experience in financial restructuring, business reorganizations, bankruptcy law, and bankruptcy-related litigation.

  • Strong knowledge of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code and insolvency proceedings.

  • Excellent analytical, drafting, research, and advocacy skills.

  • Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.
