The Associate Financial Planning Consultant role is a critical position within a financial planning team, designed to provide technical and client support to senior advisors while developing the expertise and skills necessary for a future independent advisory role. This position involves assisting with financial planning preparation, client service, and operational tasks to create capacity for Lead Advisors or Managing Directors. The Associate Fin Financial Planning Consultant may also contribute to firm initiatives, internal projects, and strategic goals.
Candidates must be located near our Citrus Heights, CA office.
What You'll Do:
  • General Support
    • Assist Partner Advisors with analysis, client service, and technical tasks.
    • Develop and refine technical skills.
    • Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless client service delivery.
  • Analytical Support
    • Prepare financial plans by gathering and analyzing client data using financial planning software.
    • Attend client meetings to take detailed notes and provide follow-up support.
    • Conduct portfolio reviews, asset allocation analysis, and generate rebalancing trades.
    • Research financial products, investment managers, and services to support client recommendations.
    • Create custom spreadsheets or tools for analyzing specific planning scenarios or purchase decisions.
  • Client Service
    • Respond to basic client inquiries regarding account access, statements, or general financial questions.
    • Facilitate fund transfers, update cost-based information, and complete account-related forms.
    • Maintain accurate records in CRM systems and generate performance reports using portfolio management tools.
    • Provide product education or options to clients as needed.

What You Need to Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in financial planning, investments, or related areas preferred.
  • Series 7, 63, 65 , as well as a Life Insurance license, are required.

  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills for both client interactions and internal collaboration.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Travel Requirements: Up to 5%
The position is generally office-based with occasional travel for client meetings or professional events. It requires a combination of independent work on technical tasks and collaborative efforts with the advisory team.
Compensation:
The base salary range for this role in Citrus Heights, CA is $72,000-$100,000, plus a competitive performance-based bonus. Base salary depends on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and location. Salary range may also differ significantly due to geography and cost of labor considerations.
