TSP is seeking an
Associate Field Engineer to join our team. In this hands-on, customer-facing role, you will install, configure, upgrade, and support enterprise storage solutions while working alongside experienced engineers and technical teams. This is a home-based field role and will involve
travel (by personal vehicle or air) as needed to various business sites for service delivery on a regular basis. Business mileage is reimbursed.
Candidates must be located in the
Newark, NJ area (preferably within a 20-mile radius).
Paid training is provided.
THESE ARE THE JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF AN ASSOCIATE FIELD ENGINEER:
- Install, configure, upgrade, and provide hardware support for Everpure Storage and Cirrus equipment
- Perform physical installation activities including unboxing, lifting, racking, stacking, cabling, and basic configuration of storage systems
- Schedule installation engagements and coordinate the delivery of required equipment and parts
- Work directly with customer IT teams, including system administrators, engineers, and technical managers
- Collaborate with TSP presales, professional services, and technical support teams to ensure successful project delivery
- Create and follow installation documentation, including runbooks, design workbooks, and implementation plans
- Manage multiple customer engagements while maintaining high quality and professionalism
- Travel locally and nationwide to customer sites for installations, upgrades, and support, with travel up to 85%
- Work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required to support customer implementation schedules
YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO HANDLE EVERYTHING ABOVE BECAUSE YOU HAVE EXPERIENCE LIKE:
- Experience installing and supporting computer hardware or enterprise IT equipment
- Basic knowledge of storage, server, and networking technologies
- Experience with hardware installation and software configuration
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects
- Must be reliable, proactive, and able to take ownership of multiple customer engagements
- Great communication skills and fluent in English
- High school diploma or GED required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field
- Previous Everpure experience
- Previous data center experience, including installing, racking, cabling, and supporting enterprise server and storage hardware
- Understanding of storage protocols including: Fibre Channel (FC), iSCSI, NFS, SMB, S3
- Experience with one or more of the following: VMware, Citrix XenDesktop, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server
- Experience in field service or field engineering roles, including local and nationwide travel
- Experience creating runbooks, design workbooks, and statements of work
- Customer-facing consulting or professional services experience
- Experience with VMware, Microsoft Windows Server, or Linux
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ABOUT THIS ROLE:
- Ability to lift and install equipment weighing up to 75 pounds
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Reliable personal vehicle for travel to customer sites
- Active automobile insurance that meets state minimum coverage requirements
- Pay: $24.00 to $28.00 per hour
- Additional pay increases based on completed training, certifications, and experience.
