Job Description
As a Field Service Engineer, you play a vital role in ensuring our customers' laboratory and process operations run reliably, safely, and at peak performance. You are the face of our service organization-bringing technical expertise, professionalism, and problem-solving skills directly to customer sites. Your work supports long-term customer partnerships and helps maintain the high standards associated with our products and services. In this role, you'll work both independently and alongside a supportive team, delivering exceptional on-site calibration, maintenance, and repair services.
What you'll do
  • Install, configure, and optimize hardware, software, and network-connected products at customer sites.
  • Perform routine and complex maintenance, calibration, and repair of laboratory and process equipment.
  • Diagnose performance issues and recommend solutions that improve equipment reliability.
  • Provide customer training and technical guidance to enhance proper equipment use and preventative care.
  • Respond proactively to potential issues to minimize downtime and unplanned business interruptions.
  • Serve as a technical resource for colleagues and customers, occasionally mentoring other field engineers.
  • Support high-volume customer locations with on-site calibration services.
  • Ensure professional, timely communication and a strong customer service experience.

What you need
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities
  • Ability to work independently and in team environments
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience servicing analytical or laboratory instrumentation
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or related field; Associate degree with experience also considered -
  • 5-10 years of related equipment troubleshooting, calibration, or repair experience
  • Proficiency with spreadsheet and word-processing software
  • Ability to travel up to 75% of the time and maintain a valid driver's license
