Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 2:00pm–Midnight

Pay Range: $24.00-28.00 per hour base + $2.00 per hours shift premium (Based on Experience)

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for operation of the CNC machine using computer-controlled machines to fabricate parts from metal or plastic. Primary duties include programming, machining materials in a timely manner for production and meeting customer specifications/requirements.


Responsibilities:

  • Programing first article specifications into the CNC Machine using customer drawings.
  • The ability to read and follow a schedule to meet customer demands and ensure delivery on time.
  • Utilizing the bill of material, to accurately select raw materials for processing.
  • Delivering finished machined parts to the next operation of production in a timely fashion.
  • The ability to manually machine material utilizing power tools, calipers and other measuring devices in situations when the CNC machine cannot be used.
  • Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces.
  • Maintain specifications by observing the drilling, grooving, and cutting process. Taking measurements, detecting malfunctions, troubleshooting, adjusting and reprogramming controls as needed.
  • Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements. Following manufacturer's instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs.
Requirements:

Education/Training:

  • Technical Degree preferred with 3 years of CNC machine operator experience
  • Mechanical Background a plus
  • ISO 9001 Knowledge
  • Lean Manufacturing experience a plus
  • Forklift certification a plus

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Computer programing skills as it relates to CNC machinery
  • Mechanical skills with the ability to accurately measure using proper tooling
  • Problem solving and Continual Improvement mind set
  • The ability to pay close attention to detail

Travel Requirements:

  • Internal Village Companies for delivery

Physical Requirements:

  • Be able to lift at least 25 lbs and up to 50 lbs for short periods of time
  • Ability to maneuver around the CNC Machine (bending and twisting)
  • Must be able to stand for several hours per day, sit, bend, and lift.

Safety-Sensitive Position: CNC Operator role is considered a safety-sensitive position. Employees are responsible for operating and working around manufacturing equipment, power tools, moving machinery, and material handling devices where inattentiveness or inability to safely perform assigned duties could result in injury to themselves or others. Employees must be physically capable of performing the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, and must consistently demonstrate the ability to work safely, follow safety policies, and maintain situational awareness in a manufacturing environment. Safety performance is a critical component of successful job performance in this role.

  • CNC Machine
  • Hand and Power Tools (Drills, Tape Measures, Calipers, etc.)
  • Safety equipment: Safety glasses, hearing protection as required, cut resistant gloves as required and steel toes in required area. Electrostatic discharge equipment may be required in designated areas.
  • Computers, printers, etc.

Working Environment:

  • 100% Manufacturing: light, clean, moderate to loud noise, safety glasses required and other personal protective equipment (PPE) where applicable. While performing the job, the employee is regularly exposed to metal and fiberglass dust.
