We are searching for the best talent for an Associate Engineer I in Raynham, MA.

The Associate Engineer 1 will assist in the design and development of new implants and instrumentation. This includes communication with surgeons and sales consultants, understanding of clinical issues, defining the design parameters, and ensuring the correct product is provided to the customer. Can be part of a development team and may coordinate prototype production and solve design related problems. This includes limited technical product support to customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply analytical techniques, including finite element analysis, to support product testing and design verification.

  • Support hands on testing activities for design verification and test method development.

  • Assist with engineering tasks and conduct basic scientific research related to new products, technology concepts, and product development initiatives.

  • Create, modify, and release CAD models and engineering drawings in accordance with company standards.

  • Prepare engineering documentation, including technical reports, work instructions, and process or method validation materials.

  • Perform basic algebraic and geometric calculations and utilize standard engineering data to support design configurations.

  • Participate in prototype, tool, and fixture testing post fabrication to verify compliance with specifications.

  • Support Product Core Team (PCT) objectives by participating in meetings, completing functional assignments, solving problems, and meeting defined milestones to enable timely project commercialization.

  • Design and develop new products with guidance from senior engineers.

  • Coordinate prototype builds and support pre production activities.

  • Update engineering drawings as required to reflect new manufacturing methods, vendor specifications, or design improvements.

  • Participate in pre production and design review meetings for new products.

  • Support resolution of design related issues for existing products.

  • Provide limited technical product support to surgeons and sales teams, as appropriate.

  • Demonstrate effective task prioritization, workload management, and clear written and verbal communication while collaborating with cross functional teams.

  • Communicate business related issues or opportunities to the appropriate management level.

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, and company regulations, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications:

Required -

  • Bachelor's degree in Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.

  • 0-2 years of relevant engineering experience.

  • Ability to effectively contribute to crossfunctional, multidisciplinary project teams.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a dynamic environment.

  • Working knowledge of basic engineering and scientific principles, with the ability to apply them under guidance.

  • Familiarity with simple engineering calculations or simulations to support design verification and minimize physical testing.

  • Ability to identify, communicate, and help resolve basic technical problems in a timely manner.

  • Basic understanding of time management principles and the ability to meet defined goals and commitments.

  • Ability to document work clearly and accurately, including adherence to good lab notebook practices and protection of confidential information.

  • Commitment to ensuring engineering designs are safe, effective, and appropriately verified.

  • Master's degree in Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.

  • Completed an engineering related internship

  • Experience creating or modifying computergenerated 2D/3D CAD models and engineering drawings in alignment with company standards, including basic familiarity with GD&T and weld specifications.

  • Understanding of concept generation, technical feasibility, and fundamental design engineering techniques, including familiarity with prototyping methods.

  • Exposure to Design Excellence tools and methodologies (e.g., VOC, QFD, Functional Product Map).

  • Basic knowledge of materials used in surgical instruments or biomaterials, including ability to articulate selection rationale.

  • Understanding of mechanical design considerations during surgical use and following implantation of medical devices.

  • Interest in developing knowledge of company product lines, spinal pathologies, and relevant intellectual property considerations, including patents.

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:
