Job description

Job Summary

The Engineer I is part of a unit designing excavation shoring projects, working under a Professional Engineer. Ensures that engineering design, complies with the project objective and contractual requirements i.e. project schedule, company standards, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design excavation shoring plans.
  • Provide advice and assistance to personnel on all matters about engineering.
  • Solve customer needs with equipment rented and designed by NTS.
  • Communicate with Sales on the best solution for the customer’s needs.
  • Plan, schedule, and provide work direction when required for preparation of designs, processes, and related data.
  • Bring elements of a project together, makes certain that all elements proceed satisfactorily on schedule and initiates corrective action as required.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of statics and mechanics of materials
  • Analytical problem-solving and presentation skills
  • Communication - verbal and written.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural/Geotechnical Engineering
    1. Associated classes: Statics, Steel Design, Concrete Design, Foundations, or Geotechnical Design
