Dover Precision Components (DPC), A Dover Company, is hiring a Controls Engineer for our FW Murphy Production Controls business located in Rosenberg, TX. We manufacture and deliver a wide range of instrumentation and control solutions for the Oil & Gas Production and Natural Gas Compression markets. Our products improve the protection, performance, and reliability of the Natural Gas Supply Chain while protecting our environment and creating systems and equipment to help producers stay in compliance and meet stringent emission regulations.

Position Summary:
The Controls Engineer will play a crucial role in designing custom control panels, managing project cycles, specifying components, and providing technical support. The ideal candidate will have experience in controls, electrical, or automation engineering, preferably in the oil & gas industry. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to projects in the oil & gas industry and work alongside a dedicated team of professionals. The role will report to the Manager, Hardware Engineering and will be based in the Rosenberg, TX office.   

Responsibilities:
   Design custom control panels according to customer specifications, adhering to industry standards such as UL508A, UL/ANSI 12.12.01, ATEX, and IECEx codes.
   Manage project cycles to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality control systems.
   Specify components based on customer requirements and hazardous location specifications (Class I Div. 1/ Zone 0/1 and Class I Div. 2 / Zone 2).
   Standardize control panel designs to streamline processes and minimize errors.
   Write technical documents (sequence/narrative/reports/emails)
   Provide engineering level assistance to the Technical Service Department to aid customer support resolution.
   Design, implement, and maintain processes to optimize manufacturing productivity and efficiency.

Minimum required qualifications:
   Associate or bachelor's degree in Instrumentation and Controls, Electronical Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.
   Work experience or technical certificate/program in lieu of degree will be considered.
   Minimum of 2 years of experience in controls, electrical engineering, automation engineering, or a relevant technician role, preferably within the oil & gas industry.
   Knowledge of natural gas compressors and industry applications.
   Familiarity with NEC code book.
   Familiarity with Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID).
   Familiarity with Cause & Effect Diagrams.
   Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
   Excellent organizational and time management skills with a high attention to detail.
   Ability to manage multiple projects, resolve design issues, and meet deadlines.
   Strong written and verbal communication skills.
