Associate Engagement Manager

Position Summary


Key enterprise position leading the development, deployment, and maintenance of the One Xcel Energy Way Operating System within assigned business area and support functions. Responsible for coaching others through analyzing, defining, and implementing technical and process solutions.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead the deployment and maintenance of the Management Requirements and 4 Plays: Visualization, Performance Reviews, Problem-Solving, and Standardization. Drive the use of rally rooms and operating boards to standardize work. Utilize PDCA/A3 to drive continuous improvement based on business area goals cascaded down through the organization.

  • Responsible for providing process expertise and analysis on issues through coaching and facilitation of teams. Act as a key liaison between the business area leadership, shared services, and One Way office.

  • Communicate and report out on the status of business area improvements. Establish effective, collaborative working relationships with front line through senior leadership to maximize project efficiency, responsiveness, and resource allocation.

  • Lead business area continuous improvement projects utilizing continuous improvement methodology to deliver substantial improvements in identified areas.

  • Support process level metrics and influence accountability across process streams by supporting use of tools such as rally rooms, continuous improvement projects.

  • Provide financial management of projects including budgeting, forecasting, actuals tracking, and savings implications.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with at least 5 years related business experience.

  • Change management and/or program/project management experience.

  • Ability to build relationships and effectively communicate to a variety of audiences and analyze ambiguous/complex business scenarios.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence others.

  • Ability to adapt to change quickly and work within a diverse, cross-functional team environment.

  • Understanding of core business processes/industry trends with ability to interpret and react to ongoing changes.

Preferred Requirements

  • Gas and/or Electric Utility Industry experience.

  • MBA, Industrial Engineering, or other related certification.

  • Business process management skillset including Six Sigma/Continuous Improvement Toolsets, and data management skillsets.

  • Internal/External consulting experience facilitating improvement and transformation initiatives.
