Job description


Duties and responsibilities
  • Lead the repair of the endoscope assemblies and finished devices per instructions.
  •  Repair in the designated duration per the acceptable standard times. 
  •  Consult with the lead engineer for any non-conformance or technical issues. 
  •  Repair the diverse types of devices such as a mechanical assembly or an electromechanical assembly. 
  •  Ensure the quality of the repaired assemblies and/or products for performance. These are medical devices and the quality of the repair is expected to be of the highest level. 
  • Comply with the standard training procedures at SG-LLC. It is expected that the technician is fully trained for any repair work per SG-LLC standard operating procedures. 
  • Considering the diversity of work, the technician may be required to repair different types of assemblies. Technicians must be flexible to adapt to different repair requirements.
Education
  •  Prefer a technical High School diploma along with vocational training. 
  •  An Associate's Degree in biomedical technology or electronics, or relevant military experience is preferred. 
Experience
  •  A minimum of 15 years of industry experience in the electromechanical assembly and/or repair. 
  •  Medical device industry experience is preferred with a focus on assembly and repair. 
Skills

  •  Must have experience in electrical and mechanical subsystems and finished devices. 
  •  Medical device industry experience is preferred. 
  •  Ability to conduct repair estimates and provide information for sound decision-making for the repairs. 
  •  Excellent documentation skills with the ability to read, understand, and learn from work instructions, engineering drawings, and sketches. Attention to detail for tracking and maintaining medical device history. 
  •  Document the repair process per the work instructions, including the actual repairs, capture photographs, and record results.
  • Must be able to follow the instructions per work instructions and collaborate with the engineers for any technical issue resolution.
  • Demonstrate a primary commitment to patient safety, product quality and compliance with Fong's Quality Manual and its governing regulations. 
  • Strong understanding of electronics, pneumatics, hydraulics, and basic computer networking. 
  •  Ability to use multimeters, oscilloscopes, calipers, micrometers, and various hand/power tools
