Job description


Arconic is currently in search of Electrical Engineer to join our team based in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
As Lancaster Mill continues to grow and invest in its future, we are seeking an Electrical Engineer to play a key role in advancing our operations through technical expertise, capital project leadership, and continuous improvement. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a growing manufacturing operation where your contributions will directly influence safety, reliability, productivity, and long-term business success.
In this highly visible role, you will provide engineering support across the mill, partnering with Production, Maintenance, Technical, and Leadership teams to solve complex challenges, improve electrical systems, and lead significant capital and major maintenance projects from concept through completion. You will have the opportunity to shape the future of the facility while working with modern equipment and driving meaningful improvements across the operation.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
  • Electrical Engineering & Technical Leadership
    • Serve as the primary engineering resource for electrical systems, equipment, and related processes across the mill.
    • Provide technical expertise and support to production, maintenance, administrative, and engineering teams.
    • Analyze and resolve complex electrical and equipment-related issues that impact safety, reliability, quality, and productivity.
    • Identify and implement improvements that enhance equipment performance, reliability, energy efficiency, and operating effectiveness.
    • Support troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility.
    • Apply engineering best practices and innovative technologies to improve operational performance and asset utilization.
  • Capital Planning & Budget Development
    • Partner in the annual development of the plant's three-year capital and major maintenance budget.
    • Identify opportunities for equipment upgrades, modernization, and process improvements.
    • Develop project scopes, cost estimates, vendor quotations, and supporting business justifications.
    • Prepare project descriptions and budget forecasts that support the mill's strategic objectives and long-term growth plans.
  • Project Development & Preparation
    • Develop and lead cross-functional project teams consisting of operations, maintenance, engineering, and technical personnel.
    • Create detailed project specifications and comprehensive scopes of work.

Qualifications
You have: (required)
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field
  • 0 to 12+ years of relevant engineering experience *Position level (Associate, Senior, Staff, etc.) will be determined based on the candidate's relevant experience, skills, and qualifications
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Additional Preferred Qualifications
  • Must be willing to work hands-on alongside both production and maintenance employees including with troubleshooting and repairing equipment
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems
  • Ability to handle multiple projects/assignments concurrently and be results oriented
  • Demonstrates computer skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Demonstrates strong decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with individuals and teams at all levels of the organization
  • Proficient with AutoCAD or similar CAD software
  • Able to work flexible hours as required
