Job description

CMTA, formerly known as AMA Group, is seeking an experienced Electrical Associate who will be responsible for designing electrical systems and owning the internal growth of various projects. This position will be a subject matter expert responsible for the daily design activities.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce complete electrical systems design drawings in accordance with the code 

  • Collaborate in solving a variety of complex engineering problems (e.g., conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, difficult coordination requirements) 

  • Organize technical and financial proposals for new work 

  • Keep senior staff informed of important and relevant service/design decisions to ensure the objectives of the client are achieved 

  • Establish a strong relationship with the design team 

  • Responding to RFIs and communicating information accurately and in a timely manner 

Desired Skills and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering required; PE highly preferred 

  • 7+ years of experience as an Electrical Engineer with 5+ years in the MEP space 

  • Expert knowledge of building codes and standards, engineering drafting standards, electrical engineering standards, and other trades 

  • Expert understanding of the construction process and interpretation of construction drawings 

  • Advanced technical knowledge of electrical systems; ability to investigate, identify, and provide solutions to technical problems 

  • Experience in the preparation of technical reports for delivery to a client audience 

  • AutoCAD and REVIT proficiency
