Action Against Hunger USA (ACF USA) is part of the Action Against Hunger International network, a global leader in the fight against hunger operating in over 50 countries with programs focused on nutrition, health, climate resilience, food security, and emergency response. We manage operations in Kenya, South Sudan, Somalia, Tanzania, Uganda, Ethiopia, Zambia, and Haiti, working alongside communities to address the root causes of hunger and strengthen resilience.
We are seeking a Communications Associate to support content development, storytelling, knowledge management, and communications coordination within our External Relations team.

  • Support the Associate Director of Communications with PowerPoint presentations and internal communications materials.
  • Draft and enter website content using WordPress and SEO tools.
  • Take notes during expert briefings and team meetings to support communications planning and content development.
  • Monitor media outlets, program updates, and sector information, and share relevant summaries with the team.
  • Contribute to the weekly editorial calendar.
  • Support content development for the website, digital marketing, social media, traditional media, and other communications channels.
  • Work collaboratively and diplomatically with External Relations colleagues, field teams, and global network partners.

Who We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 1-2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Interest in international development, humanitarian work, and mission-driven communications.
  • Strong professional writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
  • Highly organized with strong project management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint.
  • Ability to identify challenges and recommend solutions proactively.
  • Experience with website content management systems, including WordPress, is a plus.
  • Ability to work respectfully and collaboratively with diverse teams.

Why Join Us?
Join Action Against Hunger to help tell the stories that build awareness, strengthen engagement, and mobilize support for communities facing hunger and humanitarian crises.
In this role, you will support a collaborative communications team, contribute to content across multiple channels, and help strengthen the systems and tools that keep communications work organized and effective.
