Job description

Associate Veterinarian – Wilderness Oaks, P-T, F-T. Guaranteed First Year Income! New Grad Friendly!
My Pet’s Vet, a growing small animal day practice in San Antonio, is looking for the right doctor to join our team. We are seeking both a part-time and full-time doctor.

In addition to practicing best medicine, our primary operating goal is to create a pleasant work atmosphere with a happy staff that wants to come to work. The number one reason most of our doctors chose to work for My Pet’s Vet is because they felt the positive environment and happiness of our staff. Each hospital operates in many ways as a private practice with full medical autonomy, and we strive to give our staff the opportunity to grow and achieve, allowing them to better serve our patients and clients. We work hard to build teams working together in pursuit of our mission- Healthy Pets and Happy Parents.

  • Heavy quarterly profit-sharing bonus for the entire team (20%-25% of profit is paid back to the hospital staff) promoting teamwork and providing opportunity to thank each team member for their contribution to the hospital’s success.
  • Quarterly performance reviews and raises for non-dvm staff to recognize the growth and contribution of each employee
  • A budget of up to $1500/month for discretionary services, including hardship cases, especially when we can prevent a pet from being surrendered or economic euthanasia. A great “feel-good” opportunity for the doctor and team while helping the pet.
  • Frequent Adoption Days (hospital covers cost of adoption fee from local rescue group to help pets find their forever-homes). A wonderful team-building event for the staff and a great way to connect with the community
  • Tuition assistance and unlimited approved CE opportunities

We want to provide as much support as possible to our doctors, allowing them the freedom to focus on practicing medicine:

  • 6:1 Staff to Doctor Ratio (technicians are responsible for medical record entry, invoicing, client education, treatment administration)
  • Field operations support
  • Central support team for human resources, accounting, marketing, administration

Our robust wellness plans promote a lifetime of health for our patients and increased client compliance for a greater opportunity to develop the doctor-client relationship.
My Pet’s Vet offers all the characteristics of a modern practice including:

  • Full in-house Abaxis lab suite, Digital x-ray, High Speed Dental + Dental x-ray, Ultrasound, Cold Laser
  • Examination Rooms (Designated dog and cat), Surgical suite, Isolation ward
  • Full service - including daycare, boarding, and professional grooming!

As a small group practice, we are flexible in meeting the needs of our doctors and can customize a compensation plan that values your contribution:

  • Competitive salary plus signing bonuses
  • Profit sharing bonus
  • Flexible and transparent schedules
  • Fully paid health benefits
  • Generous PTO
  • Matching 401K
  • Full required CE coverage
  • Unlimited approved growth CE
  • 20% employee discount for all non-Wellness Plan services
  • Wellness Plans for up to three personal pets
  • Moving bonus
  • Health, dental, and vision plans
  • Short-term and long-term disability plans
  • Life insurance and accident/critical illness plans
