Job description

Direct Counsel represents a prestigious AmLaw firm seeking a Junior Transactional Associate (Class of 2024 or 2025) to join its Energy & Infrastructure team in Houston, Texas. This opportunity is ideal for a first- or second-year associate with transactional experience or a strong interest in energy and infrastructure matters.

The ideal candidate will support sophisticated transactions involving energy finance, commodities trading, power purchase agreements, and commercial arrangements across the power, renewables, natural gas, and upstream oil & gas sectors.

Responsibilities:

  • Support structured energy and infrastructure transactions
  • Assist with drafting and reviewing transaction and commercial agreement documents
  • Coordinate due diligence, closing deliverables, and transaction execution
  • Support energy finance and commodities trading matters
  • Work closely with clients, partners, and cross-functional legal teams

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Class of 2024 or 2025 with transactional experience and/or strong interest in energy and infrastructure matters
