Humane Fort Wayne is seeking an Associate Director of Animal & Medical Care to lead our shelter's medical, behavioral, and animal care programs. In this role, you'll guide a dedicated team while ensuring every animal receives exceptional care, enrichment, and the best opportunity for a positive outcome.What You'll Do
  • Lead Animal Health & Welfare

    Oversee all aspects of shelter medical care, including intake, treatment, vaccinations, disease prevention, and recovery.

    Manage medical programs such as surgery coordination, isolation and quarantine, foster medical support, neonatal care, and humane end-of-life services.

    Monitor medical outcomes and implement improvements that enhance animal health and welfare.

  • Advance Behavior & Enrichment

    Develop and oversee evidence-based behavior assessment and enrichment programs for dogs and cats.

    Support behavior evaluations, playgroups, enrichment activities, and behavior modification plans.

    Promote quality of life by reducing shelter stress and increasing adoption readiness.
