Job Description

The Director of Recruiting and Employee Engagement position consist of strategically leading the recruiting team to accomplish company targets and goals across all departments within SEL Transportation. Facilitate employee engagement initiatives to align with the company's People First core value and continue to support and develop the company culture.

  • Direct leadership and management of recruiting and employee engagement personnel. 
  • Develop a plan to meet the yearly company growth target for hiring. 
  • Develop, communicate, and deliver recruiting policies and practices for the recruiting department.
  • Develop reports to measure recruiting metrics; new hires, turnaround times for new hire and backfill requests, employee turnover and attrition, individual recruiters' success rate, and other key metrics for this department.
  • Develop and manage recruiting programs to include supporting programs such as hiring goals, internship programs, temporary employment needs, etc.
  • Manage all operations of the department.
  • Ensure quality and productivity goals are met by establishing processes to measure, review, and manage these goals.
  • Manage and communicate the daily and long-term objectives that apply to the department.
  • Support departmental needs and carry out the goals and directions for each division's hiring needs, ensuring smooth execution.
  • Manage employee engagement.
  • Manage employee engagement and rewards through the employee rewards platform.
  • Assist with the start of onboarding procedures for new hires, interns, temporary employees, etc. 
  • Think strategically - champion change, analyze issues, use sound judgment, and make decisions.
  • Manage conflict at all levels.
  • Drive for results with an appropriate level of urgency.
  • Maximize relationships, foster collaboration, and build trust with colleagues and leadership.
Qualifications

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma/GED or Higher.

A successful Director of Recruiting and Employee Engagement must be able to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Must consistently demonstrate the company's Mission, Vision, and Values. Must have good oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with candidates, new hires, and other team members in person, on video calls, and on the telephone. Must be customer service-oriented as well as team-oriented and must have good organizational skills. Must be able to work a flexible schedule when needed to including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
