Associate Director, Reliability (MRE)

As the Associate Director, Reliability (MRE), you will oversee the team of reliability engineers, the reliability planner/scheduler, CMMS systems, Quality Engineering, and industrial SMEs in refrigeration, kitchen equipment, and other critical utilities. You'll also take direct ownership of all life-cycle maintenance projects across US sites — including utility expansion/modification, new equipment installation (in coordination with engineering), and refrigeration system projects. You'll lead hands-on, engaging, motivating, and coaching your team members directly. Partnering with M&RE senior leadership, you'll define, develop, and deliver the facilities maintenance roadmap and set the standard for operational efficiency at your fulfillment center.

You will…
• Oversee MRE-related projects, including facilities maintenance across electrical, refrigeration, building, and grounds
• Asset Performance: Implement Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM), root cause analysis (RCA), and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) to reduce downtime.
• Motivate, engage, coach, and inspire a team of specialists — building a positive team dynamic that encourages feedback and drives change from within
• Manage outside vendors and facilitate planned and unplanned Life cycle repairs/replacements
• Ensure maintenance regulations are followed
• Maintain a current list of contractors to ensure emergency repairs are handled promptly
• Identify problems and brainstorm improvement ideas for the fulfillment center/s

You are…
• Customer Centric: You're passionate about delivering on commitments to your customers
• Bold: You have passion and grit; you're not afraid to give feedback to your team and your manager
• Agile: You roll with the punches, adapt quickly to change, and deliver results in a fast-paced, autonomous environment
• Decisive: You know when making a decision is as important as the time it takes to make it
• Problem-solver: You know there's no one-size-fits-all approach; you think outside the box and enjoy deep-diving issues to find solutions

You have…
• 10+ years' experience managing facilities maintenance/operations and reliability within the Food/Beverage/Perishables/Distribution industry
• Bachelor's degree is preferred, in Mechanical, Electrical, or another related engineering field
• Interested in spending most of your time on the shop floor, working directly with all levels of staff
• High level of integrity and ethics with excellent follow-through
• Excitement for working in a start-up environment with high ambiguity and change
• Effective communication skills across employees, direct reports, cross-functional teams, and senior leadership
• Well-versed in OSHA regulations and compliance; OSHA certification a plus
• Exposure to mechanical, electrical, automation, and refrigeration systems
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, manuals, and schematics
• Comfortable working in cold environments (some areas as low as 0°F)
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and/or nights

You’ll get…

  • Competitive hourly rate, 401K company match that vests immediately upon participation, & team bonus opportunities
  • Generous PTO and flexible attendance policy
  • Comprehensive health and wellness benefits with options at $0 monthly, effective first day of employment
  • Up to 85% discount on subscriptions to HelloFresh meal plans (HelloFresh, Green Chef, Everyplate, and Factor_)
  • Access to Employee Resource Groups that are open to all employees, including those pertaining to BIPOC, women, veterans, parents, and LGBTQ+
  • Inclusive, collaborative, and dynamic work environment within a fast-paced, mission-driven company that is disrupting the traditional food supply chain

This job description is intended to provide a general overview of the responsibilities. However, the Company reserves the right to adjust, modify, or reassign work tasks and responsibilities as needed to meet changing business needs, operational requirements, or other factors.
