What does an associate director ESG do?

An Associate Director ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing ESG strategies within an organization. This role involves analyzing ESG risks and opportunities, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and engaging with stakeholders to promote sustainable practices. The Associate Director ESG collaborates with various departments to integrate ESG considerations into business operations and reporting. Additionally, they often help communicate the company’s ESG performance to investors, clients, and regulatory bodies.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an associate director ESG?

To thrive as an Associate Director ESG, you need in-depth knowledge of environmental, social, and governance principles, combined with a relevant degree and experience in sustainability or corporate responsibility. Familiarity with ESG reporting frameworks (such as GRI, SASB, or TCFD), data analysis tools, and sustainability certifications is typically required.
