Job description

Primary Responsibilities

  • Design, program, and maintain automation and control systems.
  • Lead capital automation projects from concept through implementation.
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, quality, and engineering teams.
  • Improve equipment reliability, productivity, and process performance.
  • Provide technical support for troubleshooting and system optimization.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety and quality standards.

Job Duties

  • Program and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, machine vision systems, and related controls.
  • Create and maintain electrical schematics using CAD software.
  • Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, equipment procurement, and commissioning activities.
  • Design and support automation solutions for industrial manufacturing applications.
  • Analyze equipment performance and implement process improvements.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for equipment failures.
  • Work with vendors and contractors to support automation initiatives.
  • Maintain technical documentation and engineering records.
  • Comply with all NOV, Quality, and HSE policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Qualifications 

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing automation and controls experience.
  • Must be located in the Navasota area or within a reasonable commuting distance; this is an onsite position
  • Experience programming and troubleshooting PLC, HMI, and machine vision systems.
  • Proficiency with CAD software for electrical schematic development.
  • Demonstrated project management experience with successful implementation of capital projects.
  • Working knowledge of automation, manufacturing processes, quality systems, and continuous improvement practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
