Job description

Job summary

We're looking for a driven, curious Associate Software Engineer to join a fast-paced product team. You'll work alongside experienced engineers to build and maintain features across a PHP-based API and UI platform that serves customers and internal systems around the world. This role is a great fit for someone who takes ownership of their work, asks smart questions, and wants to grow fast in a team that moves fast.

What you will do

  • Work from our sprint board to deliver features and bug fixes, taking tasks from requirements to production
  • Write, test, and maintain code across both API and UI layers of our platform
  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and QA to understand requirements, surface risks, and ship quality work
  • Participate in code reviews, both giving and receiving feedback constructively
  • Learn the architecture and patterns of the codebase and apply them consistently
  • Investigate and resolve defects, working with support and cross-functional teams as needed
  • Use AI tools (Copilot and others) to accelerate development and improve quality
  • Ask questions when something is unclear, and follow through until it isn't

What you will have

  •  A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or currently pursuing one
  • Familiarity with at least one server-side programming language like Java, PHP, or Go, or a client-side framework like Vue or React
  • Basic understanding of relational databases and SQL
  • Exposure to HTML, JavaScript, and CSS
  • Ability to read and reason about existing code, not just write new code
  • Strong problem-solving instincts and attention to detail
  • Good communication skills and comfort working in a collaborative team environment
  • A genuine desire to grow, with a habit of doing the work it takes to get there
  • A team of people who want to help you succeed

Nice to have

  • Experience writing web applications (UI and APIs)
  • Understanding of REST API concepts, HTTP fundamentals, and experience with tools like Postman or curl
  • Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, and modern developer workflows
