Salary: $145,000 - $165,000 DOE
Trustpoint.One is partnering with a highly respected law firm seeking a Director of Associate Development & Recruitment to lead attorney recruiting, onboarding, professional development, workload management, and diversity initiatives. This strategic leadership role works closely with firm leadership, practice group leaders, and key committees to support associate success and enhance the firm's talent strategy.
MUST have prior experience as a practicing attorney to be considered.
Key Responsibilities
Associate Development & Education
  • Lead associate onboarding and orientation programs.
  • Develop and implement attorney training and professional development initiatives.
  • Oversee the associate performance review process.
  • Counsel associates on career development and CLE planning.
  • Promote participation in external CLE and professional development programs.
  • Partner with practice groups to develop attorney skills and core competencies.
  • Help develop and oversee a successful summer associate program.
Attorney Recruitment
  • Manage all aspects of associate and summer associate recruiting.
  • Source, screen, and coordinate candidate interviews.
  • Partner with hiring committees and firm leadership on hiring strategy.
  • Conduct reference checks and assist with offer processes.
  • Oversee attorney conflicts review and resolution for new hires.
Workload Management & Mentoring
  • Monitor associate workloads and staffing needs.
  • Partner with attorneys and firm leadership to balance assignments and utilization.
  • Coordinate and oversee the firm's mentoring program.
  • Track mentoring engagement and support associate success.
Diversity & Inclusion
  • Collaborate with leadership on diversity recruitment and retention initiatives.
  • Build relationships with law schools and organizations that promote diversity within the legal profession.
  • Support and advance the firm's diversity and inclusion goals.
Administrative & Strategic Initiatives
  • Partner with firm management on attorney practice-related initiatives.
  • Evaluate legal technology, workflow improvements, and emerging technologies, including AI.
  • Manage legal research platform vendor relationships, training programs, and contract renewals.
  • Lead special projects and strategic initiatives as needed.
Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) required
  • Active bar membership required
  • Must have experience as a practicing attorney, preferably in litigation
  • 3-5+ years of legal practice experience required
  • Experience in attorney development, professional training, recruiting, legal operations, or talent management is highly preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal technology platforms
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Compensation & Benefits
